What a tracker can show
A tracking service may show an aircraft's observed position, flight number, routing, estimated times and recent movement. Coverage and estimates can differ by aircraft, region and data source. A missing aircraft does not by itself prove that a flight is cancelled.
What to verify elsewhere
Use the airline's booking channel and airport information for check-in, terminal, gate, boarding, cancellation and rebooking. Keep monitoring messages sent to the contact details in the reservation. When sources conflict, ask the operating airline.
Before opening an external tracker
Record the flight number, operating airline, departure date and airport codes. Flight numbers can repeat on different dates or be shared under codeshare arrangements, so identify the operating service rather than relying only on the marketing flight number.
